THEY improv serves France with a variety of improv comedy, game shows, murder mysteries and team building activities in Paris, Annecy and the French Alps, Avignon, Cannes and Nice in the French Riviera, Champagne, Colmar, Dijon in Burgundy, the Loire Valley, Lyon, Marseille, Rouen, Strasbourg, and Toulouse. Restaurants are an important staple for our services as we provide events in venues of different types. This page is to explain, in English, the nuances between restaurant type venues in France.
Bistros are what a lot of people think of as cafés. Essentially, they are small and informal restaurants. Usually family run, they offer home style fare.
Brasseries are full service, more formal, restaurants. Better suited for larger groups, they have more services to accommodate and offer the patrons.
Restaurants Gastronomique are more formal restaurants focusing on celebrity styled chefs with years of training and elaborate dishes designed to wow.
Bistronomies are a blending of Bistros and the more formal Restaurants Gastronomique. They are smaller establishments experimenting with high-end techniques.
Café - Bouillon - Crêperie - Boulangerie - Pâtisserie - Wine Bars - Tabac - Table d'Hôte
There are other types of venues. These are cool places to go, but don't necessarily serve the needs of corporate events as well. These include Cafés, Bouillon (serving low-cost fare), Crêperie, Boulangerie (bakery), Pâtisserie (pastries), Wine Bars, and Tobacco Shops (offering refreshments). They're great for a party night out, just not a private party with a particular entertainment beyond the food and good company. The odd one is the Table d'Hôte. This is offen communal eating at an B&B of some type. It's a nice place for gathering, but tends to be for very small groups and that tends to be cost-prohibitive.

Most of THEY improv events are conducted in English. English tends to be the shared common language of our clients, though we may need to make some adjustments for varying cultures and backgrounds. Pop culture, for instance, might not be as shared. We will be happy to discuss your needs and adjust.
We can operate corporate events in a bilingual environment. Let us know your concerns and we will adapt our approach to address your needs in our program. We will go over rates and fees and determine the best approach.
We do have facilitators from all over the world who can operate for your group remotely or in-person in a variety of languages. Simply reach out and ask and we can work on developing options for your needs.
WE COME TO YOU!
We work with groups that are small, medium and large throughout France. Whether in Paris, the suburbs, other cities, or more rural areas, we come to our clients. It never made sense to get our own facilities. Coming to a venue of your choosing allows our clients to make their own decisions about everything, customizing every event to their desires. In general, we just ask that there be enough light to see, enough space to move around comfortably, and it should be quiet enough to hear. Everything else, we can adjust to.
